Ironville & Riddings - Paul Wardle     paulc.wardle@btinternet.com

I am proud to be standing as your Labour Party candidate for Riddings, Ironville, Codnor Park and Leabrooks in the council elections in May.

I have lived in Riddings with my family for 48 years and my two children went to Riddings Infants,  Juniors and Swanwick Hall Schools.  Since my retirement I’ve had time to put back into the community – as a governor on my three grandchildren’s school, campaigning with KONP to keep our health service public and stop planned hospital bed closures and as a Councillor for Somercotes Parish Council.

After my Student Apprenticeship I worked on the coalface at Moorgreen Colliery as a fitter and was later employed as a sales and service engineer with companies linked to the coal and energy industries.  I want to use my experience and commitment to our area to help make life better for people in my community. That is why I am standing for election as your representative on the council.

If elected I look forward to working alongside your local Councillor Paul Smith who works hard for you and has brought about many improvements.  I want to be another strong voice taking up the issues you bring to me be it potholes, local jobs, litter, the environment and parks, traffic or whatever else concerns you. When the Covid pandemic allows I will join Paul in his regular advice surgeries in Riddings and Ironville and would extend this to Leabrooks and Hathersage Drive.

My aim – to listen to you and deliver for you.
