Somercotes
2019
We are devastated to announce the very sad news that the longstanding member of Somewrcotes Riddings and Ironville branch and friend Dave Griffiths died recently in John Eastwood Hospice following his diagnosis with a brain tumour in January. He was with his wife Pauline and daughters Rhonda and Gemma. Dave was their branch treasurer and former Amber Valley Borough councillor for Ironville & Riddings.
During which he received national recognition for his work on the Railway Carriage at ironville
The flag at Ripley town hall is at half mast in recognition of Dave’s years as a councillor
The funeral will be at Swanwick Crematorium on Thursday 9th May at 12 noon. We will then go on to the Steampacket pub at Swanwick traffic lights (opposite the church).
For anyone who wants to write Pauline’s address is 11 Station Road, Codnor Park, Ironville, Derbyshire NG16 5PP. Rhonda and Gemma (and grandson Harry) also live nearby in Ironville.
We are all devastated at this loss but have many fond memories of Dave. Our thoughts are with his family.
