Somercotes - Katie Simpson        kbeans89@gmail.com

Picture
My name is Katie Simpson and I am 31 years old. I was brought up in Somercotes and then Riddings – and have now lived on the Windmill Estate for many years.
I am extremely humbled to have been chosen to be the Labour Party candidate for Somercotes.
I live with my husband, three small children and our cats. Who of course, constantly keep me busy! When I am not snowed under with housework and being a working parent, I like to socialise with my family and friends. But I do also love a local coffee morning or afternoon tea.
I have worked part-time for Thorntons in customer relations for eight years - so I’m used to sorting out problems for people.
I truly believe in the Labour Party and what they stand for. Without the Labour Party policies and support for families like my own- I may never have furthered my education and received my University degree.
I have faced many challenges already in my life, such as being a young single parent and feeling the strains of daily life.
I am passionate about shaping a better future for our children. But I will also put my heart and soul into supporting generations that have come before mine.
